Plant Operator – Hybrid PV + BESS Facility

About the role

CrossBoundary Energy is seeking a Plant Operator to support day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of its Kamoa hybrid PV + BESS facility in Kolwezi. The role involves continuous 24/7 monitoring, fault tracking, dispatching technical teams and assisting senior staff to meet strict availability and baseload targets. The position is site‑based on a rotational schedule (8 weeks on / 2 weeks off) with accommodation provided on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Execute routine preventive maintenance (PM) and first‑level corrective maintenance (CM) on substation equipment following approved procedures.
• Monitor plant performance 24/7 and work scheduled daily shifts.
• Track plant underperformance and equipment breakdowns, dispatching technical teams as required.
• Track forecasting accuracy and coordinate closely with plant management.
• Conduct substation inspections, thermography, torque checks, cleaning quality verification, and support vegetation control coordination.
• Use plant SCADA and analytics tools to acknowledge alarms, capture evidence, and escalate issues to senior technicians.
• Support inverter and MV station interventions alongside senior technicians and OEMs, preparing work areas, tools, permits and spare parts.

Required profile

• Ability to work scheduled daily shifts and 24/7 monitoring.
• Experience with substation equipment preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Capability to perform inspections, thermography, torque checks and vegetation control coordination.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and plant analytics tools.
• Ability to support inverter and MV station interventions and assist senior technical staff.
