Project Civil Engineer – ARK Project

About the role

The Project Civil Engineer will lead civil and geotechnical engineering design for the ARK feasibility study at Kibali Gold Mine. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, cost‑effective solutions that meet mine safety standards and project targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on civil and geotechnical aspects of the feasibility study.
• Prepare engineering analyses, specifications, and cost estimates for earthworks and civil packages.
• Develop design criteria, scope of works, datasheets, and bid evaluations.
• Perform engineering calculations, layout optimisation, and interface management with services (piping, EC&I, drainage, trenches).
• Negotiate contracts, manage budgets, and ensure quality control for civil construction packages.
• Assess structural integrity of existing civil structures and verify designs against international codes.
• Support procurement by defining civil and earthworks requirements and ensuring availability of resources.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Minimum 8 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in mining.
• Membership in an accredited civil engineering body (e.g., SAICE, SAISC) is an advantage.
