Project Engineering Manager – ARK Project

About the role

The ARK Project at Kibali Gold Mine is undertaking a feasibility study for a plant expansion. We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team, integrate the owner’s engineering group with the EPCM consultant, and ensure safe, cost‑effective delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the feasibility study and define design criteria.
• Prepare engineering analyses, specifications, and capital‑operating cost estimates for key equipment and contracts.
• Estimate CAPEX, develop equipment datasheets, and evaluate bids.
• Negotiate and review contracts, manage budgets, and implement a quality management system.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers and ensure availability of manpower, tools, and materials.
• Review 3D modelling and manufacturing drawings, maintain a spares database, and drive common‑spare strategies.
• Ensure designs comply with international codes and standards.
• Report progress and key metrics to senior management, manage project resources, and develop operational readiness plans.
• Identify risks, devise mitigation strategies, and stay abreast of emerging technologies to improve safety and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Registered Professional Engineer.
• Post‑graduate qualification in Engineering (preferred).
• Proven experience leading engineering teams on large‑scale mining or industrial projects.
