Project Manager – Electrical Substation Maintenance (DRC)

About the role

Aleng Engineering Services is mobilising a portfolio of high‑voltage electrical maintenance projects for a large mining operation in Katanga Province, DRC. The Project Manager will lead end‑to‑end delivery of preventive and corrective maintenance on HV/MV substations, ensuring safe and reliable power supply for mining activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, monitor and close multiple substation maintenance contracts in line with approved Scopes of Work.
• Lead on‑site teams of electrical engineers, technicians and OEM specialists across several substation locations.
• Oversee preventive and corrective work on transformers, switchgear, protection relays, CTs, VTs, circuit breakers, isolators and earthing systems.
• Coordinate manufacturer‑specific campaigns for Siemens, Schneider Electric and Ormazabal equipment, including SF6 pressure checks and relay setting updates.
• Maintain project schedules, resource plans and budgets; report progress, risks and quality records to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with HSEC standards, mining site regulations and environmental requirements.
• Manage procurement, logistics and contractor interfaces for materials and equipment.
• Attend technical and progress meetings with client engineering and operations teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing electrical substation maintenance projects in a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Strong knowledge of HV/MV equipment, protection systems and manufacturer maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work on‑site for the majority of the contract period in a remote DRC location.
• Excellent risk, change and stakeholder management capabilities.
