Project Planner – Power & Energy Projects

About the role

WSP Africa is looking for a detail‑oriented Project Planner to support its Power & Energy Project Management Office. The role will focus on planning, scheduling and performance management for large‑scale power generation, transmission, distribution and renewable energy projects across South Africa and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and establish schedule baselines.
• Monitor progress, perform critical‑path analysis and assess schedule risks.
• Prepare progress reports, dashboards, S‑curves and schedule updates for project managers.
• Support forecasting, planning and project‑controls reporting across multidisciplinary teams.
• Evaluate schedule impacts from changes, risks and delays.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and project scheduling methodologies.
• Experience on engineering, infrastructure, energy, utilities or EPCM projects.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑management abilities.
