Project Power & Electrical Engineer – ARK Project

About the role

The Project Power & Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of power generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure for the ARK feasibility study at Kibali Gold Mine. You will work closely with engineering contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, cost‑effective delivery aligned with mine safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance on power generation and electrical infrastructure across pre‑feasibility, feasibility and basic engineering phases.
• Prepare engineering analyses, specifications, and capital & operating cost estimates for key equipment and contracts.
• Review and input into design documents, monitor design quality, and enforce project controls.
• Develop design criteria, guide contractors, and drive early‑works execution to meet project schedules.
• Estimate CAPEX, identify long‑lead items, and prepare specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and bid evaluations.
• Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and negotiate contracts.
• Plan and manage budgets, contribute to overall project schedule, and ensure critical path items are addressed.
• Implement quality‑control programs and provide direction to suppliers based on procurement specifications.
• Assess electrical integrity of existing generating, transmission and distribution equipment.
• Conduct load‑flow calculations and demand planning to verify network capability.
