Senior Technician

About the role

The Technical Team Leader, titled Senior Technician, is responsible for coordinating and executing maintenance activities for the mining fleet at BIA Group’s sites in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The role ensures equipment reliability through preventive, predictive and corrective interventions while supporting the team’s productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and curative repairs on mining equipment following manufacturer guidelines.
• Execute scheduled maintenance, overhauls, diagnostics and emergency repairs.
• Prepare and manage work orders in line with departmental instructions.
• Maintain machines to manufacturer standards and document work using prescribed templates.
• Report anomalies, comply with procedures and contribute to HSE initiatives, including toolbox talks and LOTO safety practices.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by the team.

Required profile

• Technical school graduate with solid mining equipment experience (mining TP).
• Fluent in French and proficient in technical English.
• Previous supervisory or team‑lead experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Experience using ERP systems.
