Supply Associate (6-month TA) – Bunia, DRC

About the role

The Supply Associate will support UNICEF’s emergency response to the Ebola outbreak in the Ituri, Haut Uele and North Kivu provinces. Working from Bunia, the incumbent will manage procurement and supply activities, ensuring timely delivery of essential goods and services for infection prevention and control.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement processes for emergency supplies, from requisition to contract award.
• Coordinate with the Ministry of Health, national IPC mechanisms and humanitarian partners to align procurement actions.
• Monitor contract performance, delivery schedules and quality of goods.
• Develop and improve supply service delivery mechanisms in a complex humanitarian context.
• Supervise lower‑level staff and provide guidance on procurement procedures.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary education; professional or university courses in supply chain management, procurement or related fields.
• Relevant experience in procurement or logistics, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of operational autonomy.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to evaluate complex procurement cases.
