Water Engineer – Design & Delivery

About the role

WSP is seeking a Water Engineer to lead the planning, design, coordination and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will work on treatment works, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs and related civil and mechanical systems, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pump station design and pipeline sizing.
• Develop technical specifications, reports and tender documentation.
• Coordinate civil, mechanical, electrical, process and structural interfaces.
• Review engineering designs and provide quality assurance.
• Support procurement, contractor engagement and technical evaluations.
• Conduct construction monitoring, site inspections and commissioning support.
• Manage budgets, schedules and project risks for allocated work packages.
• Mentor junior engineers, technicians and graduates.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree (BEng/BSc) in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Registration with ECSA as Candidate Engineer or Professional (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 6‑9 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in design and delivery of water treatment works, wastewater treatment works, bulk water pipelines, sewer reticulation, pump stations, reservoirs and related facilities.
