About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Security Assistant to support its security unit in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. This position is a one‑year service contract (SC6) and contributes to the safety of staff, assets and operations in a challenging humanitarian environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the security team in daily operational tasks and implementation of security procedures.
• Help monitor the local security situation and report relevant incidents.
• Support the preparation of risk assessments and safety briefings for staff.
• Maintain basic security records and documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in security, safety or a related field.
• Ability to work in a humanitarian context and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Good communication skills and ability to cooperate with local authorities and partners.
