Administrative Officer – Temporary (6 months) – Bunia, DRC

About the role

The Administrative Officer will provide day‑to‑day administrative support to UNICEF’s Ebola response in Bunia. Working under the supervision of the Administration and Finance Specialist, the incumbent will ensure that operational services are delivered efficiently, on time and in compliance with UNICEF rules throughout the six‑month temporary appointment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the establishment and smooth functioning of UNICEF’s operational presence in Bunia, including office space, equipment, communications, utilities and accommodation.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF administrative rules, procedures, internal controls and authorized emergency modalities.
• Coordinate administrative support for deployment, onboarding, movement, rotation, travel, accommodation and logistical follow‑up of UNICEF personnel, consultants, surge staff and visitors.
• Facilitate timely administrative processing for Ebola response activities such as infection prevention and control, WASH, health and community engagement.

Required profile

• Experience in administrative support for humanitarian or emergency response programmes.
• Familiarity with UN/UNICEF administrative procedures and internal controls.
• Ability to work in a challenging security environment and adapt to evolving operational needs.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills.
