Chief Financial Officer

About the role

The Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for Spiro's business in the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will build a solid finance foundation for a rapidly scaling operation, support commercial and investment decisions, and deliver reliable insight to both country and group leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, audit, statutory reporting and financial compliance for the DRC entity.
• Own annual budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning and management reporting, ensuring clear visibility on performance and key risks.
• Partner with country and group leadership on market entry, growth priorities, pricing, investment decisions and operating‑model development.
• Establish fit‑for‑purpose financial controls, approval frameworks, policies and governance routines.
• Drive cash‑flow planning, working‑capital discipline and manage banking relationships.
• Oversee capital‑expenditure planning and financial evaluation of infrastructure, plant and commercial investments.
• Ensure accurate and timely month‑end and year‑end close, statutory filings, audits and tax matters.
• Build, coach and develop the local finance team while embedding high standards of ownership and integrity.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Typically 12+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong financial planning, controls, reporting, treasury and business‑partnering capability.
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, telecom, mobility or FMCG is advantageous.
• Exposure to multinational or high‑growth emerging‑market operations is preferred.
• Commercially astute, hands‑on and able to build systems and teams in an evolving environment.
