Compensation & Benefits Manager

About the role

The Compensation & Benefits Manager reports to the Chief People Officer and leads the design, implementation and optimisation of the company’s compensation and benefits programmes. This role ensures that pay structures are fair, competitive and aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals while complying with all relevant regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for managers on compensation and benefits matters, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct salary and labour market surveys, analyse data and adjust compensation policies accordingly.
• Develop and maintain competitive pay and benefit schemes to attract and retain top talent.
• Ensure compliance with labour laws and conduct regular pay‑equity audits.
• Collaborate with Recruitment to keep job descriptions up‑to‑date and evaluate position classifications.
• Lead labour‑cost governance, including cost monitoring, budget vs. actual analysis and forecasting.
• Partner with HR, Finance and Operations to align workforce structures with productivity targets.
• Create and maintain compensation dashboards and KPIs for cost visibility and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience in compensation and benefits, preferably within the mining sector.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Required skills

• Analytical and financial acumen for labour‑cost analysis and budgeting.
• Experience with job architecture, workforce planning and compensation governance frameworks.
