Cook – On‑site Food Service for Staff and Visitors

About the role

KISWISHI OPERATIONS is seeking a dedicated Cook to join its on‑site team in Kasenga, DRC. The Cook will be responsible for preparing daily meals for staff and visitors, ensuring that menus are nutritious, cost‑effective, and meet diverse dietary needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve a variety of balanced meals for up to several hundred people each day.
• Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and attractive presentation.
• Manage kitchen organization, including proper food storage, inventory tracking, and basic ordering of supplies.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Clean kitchen equipment and work areas regularly.
• Coordinate with site management to align meal schedules with operational needs and special events.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a camp, industrial, or institutional setting.
• Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Kasenga, with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or shift work.
• Basic literacy and numeracy for reading recipes, tracking inventory, and handling simple documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment.
• Formal culinary training or certification is a plus but not mandatory.
