Director for DRC INGO Forum Secretariat

About the role

Cordaid is seeking a Director to lead the Secretariat of the DRC INGO Forum, a platform that brings together 120 international NGOs delivering emergency and development assistance across the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Director will provide strategic leadership, ensure effective coordination among members, and represent the Forum with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Secretariat staff: recruitment, team leadership, performance appraisals, and capacity‑building.
• Oversee financial and grant management, including budgeting, reporting and donor relations.
• Maintain membership systems, register new members, manage fees and conduct outreach to non‑members.
• Lead steering‑committee elections, develop strategic plans, log‑frames and ensure alignment with the Host Agency.
• Facilitate monthly Heads of Mission meetings, regular INGOs gatherings, and coordinate information sharing across provincial platforms.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance to the Executive Committee and act as the primary liaison with government, UN agencies and other partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in managing a multi‑disciplinary secretariat or similar unit.
• Strong background in HR, financial and grant management within the humanitarian or development sector.
• Deep understanding of the DRC humanitarian architecture and ability to work with diverse NGOs and government bodies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
