Expert Programme Coordinator – Project Management (Goma)

About the role

Welthungerhilfe is seeking an Expert Programme Coordinator to support the Head of Project in delivering the KFW‑funded GIAP 1 project in Ituri and Maniema. The role focuses on ensuring timely, cost‑effective implementation of infrastructure, WASH, income‑generation and agricultural activities for communities bordering protected areas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to the Head of Project across monitoring, logistics, finance and administration.
• Coordinate project activities to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
• Maintain regular communication with technical staff and project managers, guiding efficiency improvements.
• Lead the MEAL team, develop and align monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning processes to satisfy donor requirements.
• Prepare narrative reports in line with donor and WHH financial and administrative guidelines.
• Develop conceptual approaches for income‑generating activities and facilitate knowledge exchange with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist Financial Assistants with financial aspects of implementation.
• Ensure effective communication with external partners and the donor, reporting progress and risks to the Head of Project.
• Represent WHH with national and international stakeholders and assume full signatory responsibility in the Head of Project’s absence.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent professional training with relevant expertise.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in donor relations and institutional funding management within development cooperation.
• Proven experience in designing livelihoods‑development concepts.
• Experience managing remote teams.
• Regional experience in Central Africa or the Democratic Republic of the Congo is an asset.
• Knowledge of financial, logistical and programme management processes.
