Finance Manager – Financial Stewardship & Risk Management

About the role

The Finance Manager will ensure high‑level resource stewardship, strict financial accountability and robust risk management for the Country Program and its partners. This role supports high‑quality programs serving vulnerable populations by overseeing financial processes, compliance and strategic financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage financial processes in line with policies, local laws and donor requirements.
• Provide proactive advice and support to managers, staff and sub‑recipients throughout the project cycle, ensuring compliance with CRS policies, GAAP and legal standards.
• Coordinate budget development and management for annual program plans and project budgets.
• Maintain accuracy, consistency and safeguarding of financial data and resources.
• Review accounting transactions for compliance, establish quality control and ensure a reliable audit trail.
• Lead preparation of financial data, analysis and projections to support decision‑making and risk mitigation.
• Manage the finance team, including coaching, performance management and staff well‑being.
• Oversee timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders such as regional offices, donors and government entities.
• Assess and strengthen the financial management capacity of staff and sub‑recipients.
• Drive closure of audit findings in a sustainable manner.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; CPA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a comparable finance role with substantial budgeting, expense analysis and accounting responsibilities.
• Preferred: Master’s degree with an accounting focus, professional accounting certification, and experience working for an international NGO.
