Head of Finance and Administration

About the role

The Head of Finance and Administration will lead the financial and administrative functions of the Okapi Wildlife Reserve (OWR), a flagship conservation area in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to the OWR Head of Programs and working closely with the DRC Country Director of Finance and Administration, this senior position ensures sound financial management, compliance, and efficient support services for the reserve’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting activities for OWR.
• Manage procurement, payroll, and other administrative services in line with WCS and ICCN policies.
• Supervise and develop the Finance and Administration team, ensuring clear roles and performance standards.
• Maintain liaison with the DRC Country Director of Finance and Administration and other senior stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, local regulations, and internal controls.
• Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and management reports for the Reserve Director and external partners.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in finance and administration, preferably within NGOs or international conservation programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in remote, complex environments.
• Strong understanding of donor compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
