Health Project Manager – Emergency Response (Bunia, DRC)

About the role

Medair is seeking a Health Project Manager to lead emergency health interventions for populations affected by conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Based in Bunia, you will oversee primary health care delivery, coordinate crisis assessments, and ensure high‑quality, life‑saving services in a challenging security environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate health projects in line with budget, timeline and objectives.
• Lead rapid assessments and short‑term interventions in response to new crises, coordinating closely with the WASH team.
• Supervise and support primary health care staff to meet international quality standards.
• Facilitate beneficiary participation and liaise with local authorities, NGOs and UN partners.
• Contribute to the design of new health project proposals and reporting.
• Oversee the supply chain for PHC pharmaceuticals, referral systems and minor health‑facility rehabilitation.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing health projects in humanitarian or conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong understanding of primary health care delivery, emergency response and health‑system strengthening.
• Ability to work in remote, insecure environments and adapt to rapidly changing conditions.
• Excellent leadership, coordination and communication skills.
