Health Manager (P-4) – Ebola Response, Bunia, DRC (6 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a senior Health Manager (P‑4) to lead technical and operational support for the Ebola virus disease response in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The position is a six‑month temporary appointment focused on improving coordination, surveillance, case management and continuity of essential health services for children and vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate epidemiological monitoring and community‑based surveillance, including case finding and contact follow‑up.
• Provide holistic case management and clinical care for pediatric Ebola patients.
• Ensure continuity of essential health services throughout the outbreak.
• Lead community engagement and promote cross‑sectoral convergence.
• Manage programme implementation, supervise the team and strengthen partnerships with government and donors.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in medicine with postgraduate training in public health, epidemiology or related field.
• Minimum eight years of experience managing public‑health emergency programmes at national or international level, including outbreak response.
• Fluency in both French and English.
