Health Manager (P-4) – Ebola Response, 6-month contract

About the role

The Health Manager (P‑4) will provide high‑level technical and operational support for UNICEF’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo, focusing on children and vulnerable communities in outbreak hotspots.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate epidemiological monitoring and community‑based surveillance, including case finding and contact follow‑up.
• Provide holistic case management for pediatric Ebola patients and ensure continuity of essential health services.
• Lead community engagement and cross‑sectoral convergence to support outbreak hotspots.
• Manage programme implementation, supervise the health team and build partnerships with government and donors.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in medicine with postgraduate training in public health, epidemiology or a related field.
• Minimum eight years of experience managing public‑health emergency programmes at national or international level, including outbreak response and data‑driven decision making.
• Fluency in French and English; additional language skills (e.g., Swahili) are an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse epidemiological data, produce technical reports and communicate with technical, governmental and donor audiences.
