Hub Coordinator – Ebola Response (6‑month contract)

About the role

The Hub Coordinator will provide strategic leadership and technical coordination for UNICEF’s Ebola preparedness and response activities within the Butembo Hub in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. This six‑month temporary appointment ensures effective programme management, partnership building and operational oversight to protect children and vulnerable communities during the ongoing outbreak.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the field office, ensuring efficient day‑to‑day operations.
• Coordinate Ebola preparedness and response activities, including surveillance, infection prevention and continuity of essential services.
• Integrate and oversee programme implementation across health, nutrition, education and protection sectors.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with government, NGOs, UN agencies and community groups.
• Monitor performance, produce reports and manage knowledge sharing.
• Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring accountability and compliance with UNICEF policies.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in social sciences, international relations, public administration, public policy, sociology or related field.
• Significant experience in humanitarian programme management, preferably at senior level (P‑4) and in health emergencies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams in complex, insecure environments.
• Strong analytical, reporting and partnership skills.
