About the role
The National Cash Working Coordinator – Programmatic Co‑Chair will lead Mercy Corps’ cash and voucher assistance strategy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Reporting to senior humanitarian leadership, the incumbent will steer the national Cash Working Group, ensure alignment with the Humanitarian Country Team and the Inter‑Cluster Network, and promote harmonised, multi‑purpose cash programming across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the National Cash Working Group (CWG‑n) and its sub‑national counterparts, facilitating regular meetings and joint planning.
- Develop and implement a strategic approach for sectoral and multi‑sectoral cash assistance, in line with humanitarian standards and the Grand Bargain commitments.
- Represent Mercy Corps in the Humanitarian Country Team and Inter‑Cluster Network, advocating for cash programming priorities.
- Provide technical guidance to field teams on cash transfer design, delivery mechanisms, monitoring and evaluation.
- Support the integration of cash assistance into broader humanitarian programming cycles and ensure coordination with other sectors such as WASH, food security and livelihoods.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in cash and voucher assistance within humanitarian contexts, preferably in the DRC or similar settings.
- Proven ability to lead multi‑stakeholder coordination groups and work effectively with NGOs, UN agencies and government bodies.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian coordination mechanisms, including the Inter‑Cluster Network and Humanitarian Country Team processes.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with fluency in English; knowledge of French is an asset.
