Operations Manager (Site Leader) – Matadi

About the role

The Operations Manager will act as the senior site leader for our Matadi operation, overseeing all aspects of production, logistics and maintenance. You will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient and profitable performance while building a high‑performing management team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all site functions including milling, ship discharging, storage, warehousing, logistics, maintenance, quality and workshop activities.
• Ensure reliable, cost‑effective production aligned with business objectives and monitor performance against KPIs.
• Enforce governance, SOP compliance, internal controls and inventory loss‑prevention measures.
• Develop and mentor a collaborative management team, fostering a culture of accountability and psychological safety.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives to eliminate legacy inefficiencies and optimise cost structure.
• Represent the company with authorities, partners and the community, managing complex regulatory and labor environments.
• Maintain full compliance with safety, food‑safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a multi‑functional industrial or logistics environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to navigate regulatory and political contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams and develop talent pipelines.
• Track record of delivering operational excellence and continuous‑improvement results.
