People and Culture Officer (Fixed-Term) – Kinshasa

About the role

The People and Culture Officer will support UNICEF’s mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by delivering core HR services at the country office in Kinshasa. Reporting to the Chief People and Culture, the officer will act as a trusted partner to line managers and staff, ensuring that HR policies and practices are applied consistently and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support including recruitment, onboarding, contract administration and employee relations.
• Assist in implementing HR programmes such as learning and capacity development, performance management and employee engagement.
• Collect, analyse and report HR data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
• Contribute to business partnering activities and support change-management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF’s HR policies, UN regulations and local labour law.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of HR experience in an international organization or large corporation.
• Fluent French and intermediate English.
• Strong communication, planning and influencing abilities, with high emotional intelligence.
