People and Culture Officer (P-2) – 6‑Month Temporary Assignment

About the role

The People and Culture Officer (P-2) will support UNICEF’s emergency response in the Democratic Republic of Congo during a critical Ebola outbreak. This six‑month temporary assignment is based in Kinshasa and reports to the Chief People & Culture, working closely with the People & Culture Specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Provide surge support for People & Culture functions to scale up the country office’s emergency response.
• Assist in coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and staff welfare activities for response teams.
• Support the implementation of UNICEF’s HR policies and procedures in a fast‑changing environment.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure timely delivery of HR services.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resource Management, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in HR management within an international organization or large corporation.
• Strong analytical abilities to identify issues, conduct research and formulate recommendations.
• Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills, adaptable to a diverse workforce.
