Programme Officer (PSEA) – 6‑month contract

About the role

The Programme Officer (PSEA) will support UNICEF’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo by leading the prevention of and response to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). Based in Bunia, the officer will work across Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu, collaborating with government, civil‑society and inter‑agency partners.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the PSEA component of the Ebola response plan, ensuring alignment with UNICEF policies.
• Provide capacity‑building and risk‑mitigation support to partners and staff.
• Coordinate inter‑agency collaboration and support government efforts on PSEA.
• Assist victims of sexual exploitation and abuse, linking them with child‑protection services.
• Report and respond to SEA allegations in accordance with UNICEF procedures.
• Represent the Ebola response PSEA Programme Officer in coordination bodies as required.

Required profile

• University degree in social sciences, gender studies, or a related field.
• Experience working on protection, gender, or SEA issues in humanitarian settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in insecure, multi‑cultural environments.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
