Project Coordinator

About the role

Medair is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the implementation and coordination of multiple health‑related projects in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo. The role provides strategic direction, manages resources, and ensures that project objectives are achieved on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee implementation of designated projects, ensuring alignment with proposals, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive activity plans, including resource needs analysis.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation against project objectives.
• Support the Deputy Country Director in concept development and proposal writing.
• Prepare and submit timely reports to Medair, donors, and line managers.
• Represent Medair with beneficiaries, community leaders, government officials, donors, UN agencies, and NGOs.
• Accompany donors on field visits and communicate program details professionally.
• Plan, construct, and monitor project budgets, ensuring compliance with donor regulations.
• Manage staff recruitment, appraisal, training, and disciplinary actions in line with Medair guidelines.
• Lead regular team meetings and foster a transparent, supportive communication environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in coordinating humanitarian or development projects.
• Strong understanding of health, nutrition, WASH, and community engagement activities.
• Ability to work effectively with local authorities and diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
• Commitment to health and security standards in field settings.
