Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager will lead the implementation of the “WINGS for Congolese Youth” project in Goma and North Kivu, funded by the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. The role combines technical oversight, team coordination and donor reporting to increase sustainable employment opportunities for youth.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all project activities, ensuring alignment with the approved proposal, budget, and timeline.
• Achieve project targets and key performance indicators.
• Recruit, orient, and train project staff; foster capacity building and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with AVSI and donor procedures on procurement, logistics, safety and administration.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and learning processes to guarantee quality and sustainability of results.
• Prepare narrative and financial reports, verify documentation and submit required donor reports.
• Maintain relationships with partners, local authorities and stakeholders; represent AVSI in sectoral coordination bodies.
• Identify new funding opportunities and contribute to proposal development.

Required profile

• Proficient written and oral French and English (C1 level).
• Experience managing development projects with donor funding.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, logistics and financial planning.
• Ability to work in a security‑sensitive environment and travel to field sites in North Kivu.
