PSEA Officer – Ebola Response (Temporary, Bunia)

About the role

The PSEA Officer will support UNICEF’s Ebola response in the Democratic Republic of Congo by strengthening prevention and response mechanisms against sexual exploitation and abuse. Based in Bunia, the role involves travel across Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu provinces.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to PSEA focal points, government partners and civil‑society organisations.
• Represent UNICEF in PSEA coordination mechanisms and ensure alignment with child protection and community engagement teams.
• Build capacity of partners through training, risk‑mitigation activities and innovative accountability approaches.
• Adapt PSEA interventions to the dual context of the Ebola outbreak and ongoing conflict.
• Contribute to the integration and sustainability of PSEA measures in post‑outbreak recovery programmes.

Required profile

• Experience working on PSEA or child protection in humanitarian settings.
• Ability to travel frequently in insecure environments and work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong coordination, cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
