Regional Administrator – Central Africa Hub

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a Regional Administrator for its Central Africa Hub (CAH) based in Kinshasa. The incumbent will oversee administrative operations across multiple stations and project sites in Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Gabon, and Rwanda, ensuring compliance with IITA policies and host‑country regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate administrative functions at all CAH stations, project sites, and field offices.
• Collaborate with the Regional Finance Officer to improve systems and procedures.
• Co‑supervise Station Administrators together with Country Representatives and Officers‑in‑charge.
• Guide staff on personnel policies, remuneration reviews, and related procedures.
• Adapt and localise IITA policies to meet country‑specific legal requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of infrastructure and maintenance plans.
• Monitor audit recommendations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Identify capacity gaps and build administrative staff capabilities.
• Work with the Hub Risk Management Committee to implement mitigation plans.
