Relief Production Supervisor

About the role

The Relief Production Supervisor ensures the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the lube & grease plant. This role supports the plant during peak periods or staff absences, maintaining production quality and compliance with all safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day plant operations, optimizing use of production resources.
• Manage production documentation related to safety, health, and environment.
• Prepare and distribute required production reports.
• Implement and monitor waste‑management systems.
• Control overtime, manufacturing variances and inventory tolerances.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies, ISO 50001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and maintain good housekeeping.
• Conduct safety talks and routine plant safety inspections.
• Set objectives, conduct staff appraisals and identify training needs.
• Train operators on work instructions, tasks and procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma in Production, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a production environment.
• Two years of experience leading teams in a unionised setting.
• Good understanding of emergency response equipment.
• Strong organisational and planning abilities.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with ISO 50001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001 standards.
• Experience with One Maestro system and waste‑management processes.
