About the role
Africell is seeking a Retail Sales Manager to lead its retail network in Kinshasa. The role combines strategic sales leadership with operational excellence to drive revenue, subscriber growth, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement regional retail sales strategies and commercial plans to meet revenue and acquisition targets.
- Analyze market trends and footfall data to optimise store locations, kiosks and retail formats.
- Manage the retail department budget, monitor operating expenses and ensure high ROI for campaigns and store operations.
- Establish Service Level Agreements and Voice‑of‑Customer loops to improve Net Promoter Score.
- Develop and enforce SOPs for inventory, cash handling, KYC compliance and CRM platform usage.
- Collaborate with Marketing on trade‑marketing materials, campaigns and product launches.
- Lead, mentor and evaluate Retail Team Leaders and Supervisors, overseeing succession planning.
- Direct production of analytical reports on sales conversion, productivity and competitor activity.
Required profile
- Minimum 7 years retail sales experience, with 3‑4 years in a senior management role, preferably in telecom, banking or high‑volume FMCG.
- Advanced understanding of retail economics, inventory management and CRM systems.
- Proven ability to translate complex market data into actionable retail strategies.
- Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
- Experience managing large, culturally diverse teams and budgeting processes.
