Sales Manager – Wholesale Food Distribution

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead our wholesale food distribution business in Kinshasa, DRC. The successful candidate will drive growth across the FMCG food sector by leveraging deep market knowledge and strong relationships with wholesalers and distributors.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through wholesale and distribution channels.
• Develop and expand the customer base across Kinshasa and other key regions of the DRC.
• Build and maintain relationships with wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, and institutional customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and increase market penetration.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer requirements.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet business objectives.
• Ensure timely collections and maintain healthy customer accounts.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence for management.
• Coordinate with logistics and supply‑chain teams to guarantee timely product deliveries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• 5–8 years of wholesale sales experience in Kinshasa, preferably in the FMCG/food industry.
• Proven track record of selling food products through wholesale and distribution channels.
• Strong understanding of the DRC food market and distribution network.
• Fluent in French, Lingala and English.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of the Kinshasa and DRC wholesale market.
• Strong network of wholesalers, distributors and key trade customers.
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Leadership, planning and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for sales reporting.
