Sales Manager – Wholesale Food Distribution (Kinshasa, DRC)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead our wholesale food distribution business in Kinshasa, DRC. The role focuses on driving growth across wholesale and distribution channels for a range of FMCG food products.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets through wholesale and distribution networks.
• Develop and expand the customer base across Kinshasa and other key regions of the DRC.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, distributors, supermarkets, and institutional customers.
• Identify new business opportunities and increase market penetration.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing, and customer requirements.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet business objectives.
• Ensure timely collections and maintain healthy customer accounts.
• Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market intelligence for management.
• Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams to guarantee timely product deliveries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• 5–8 years of wholesale sales experience in Kinshasa, DRC, preferably in the FMCG/food industry.
• Proven experience selling food products such as pasta, edible oils, margarine, rice, sugar, wheat flour, and other FMCG items through wholesale channels.
• Strong understanding of the DRC food market and distribution network.
• Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
• Fluent in French, Lingala and English.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of the Kinshasa and DRC wholesale market.
• Extensive network of wholesalers, distributors and key trade customers.
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and relationship‑management abilities.
• Strong leadership, planning and analytical capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for sales reporting.
