Senior Adviser, Social & Behavior Change (RCCE) – P5 (6‑month contract)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Senior Adviser to lead the Social and Behavior Change (SBC) and Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The six‑month temporary appointment will be based in Bunia and will support national and provincial coordination mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of UNICEF’s SBC/RCCE activities across the country.
• Co‑lead coordination mechanisms at national, provincial and health‑zone levels, aligning efforts of government, UN agencies and operational partners.
• Ensure technical coherence between the Country Office SBC priorities and the Ebola Incident Management structure.
• Guide the development and implementation of targeted, community‑led risk communication strategies in transmission hotspots.
• Collaborate closely with the SBC Section, Health Section, Emergency Team, field offices and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Executive‑level professional (P‑5) with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in social and behavior change, risk communication and health‑emergency response.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑partner coordination at national and sub‑national levels.
• Strong understanding of Ebola or similar epidemic contexts.
