Senior Advisor – Sanitation Market Systems (DRC)

About the role

PSI is seeking a Senior Advisor to lead the sanitation market systems component of the USAID‑funded DRC Rural and Peri‑Urban Sanitation Activity. Based in Goma, the role will guide technical strategy, strengthen demand and supply of affordable sanitation products, and support the transition of implementation to local entities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the development of technical activities and strategy to improve demand and supply of higher‑quality, affordable sanitation products and services.
• Provide remote and in‑country technical assistance to network members, ensuring alignment with PSI and global best practices.
• Support interventions across sector governance, demand creation, financing, and supply‑side strengthening.
• Build local capacity and facilitate the hand‑over of implementation responsibilities to local partners.
• Coordinate with USAID and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sanitation market systems or related public‑health sectors, preferably in low‑income or humanitarian contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical work and manage multi‑stakeholder collaborations.
• Experience with USAID‑funded programs or similar development initiatives.
• Willingness to travel internationally (10‑25% of time) and work on‑site in the DRC.

• Base salary range US$82,000 – US$122,000 per year.
