Senior Crash Data Systems Expert

About the role

NTU International is seeking a Senior Crash Data Systems Expert to lead the design, deployment, and management of integrated road crash data systems for an EU‑funded technical assistance project supporting ECOWAS transport governance. The role will focus on harmonising crash data across police, health, licensing, insurance and infrastructure sources to improve road safety monitoring in West Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy integrated road crash data management systems.
• Provide technical assistance on crash data collection, database management and interoperability frameworks.
• Integrate police, hospital, licensing, insurance and road infrastructure databases into unified platforms.
• Advise on harmonised crash data templates, standards and analytics methodologies.
• Create digital dashboards, reporting tools and road‑safety monitoring applications.
• Prepare technical specifications, operational procedures, analytical reports and system assessments.
• Ensure data quality, validation and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Coordinate with transport authorities, police, health agencies, ICT providers and development partners.
• Deliver workshops, training and capacity‑building activities.
• Support monitoring, reporting and analytical outputs on road‑crash data and safety performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in information systems, transport engineering, statistics, data analytics, road safety, public health or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in road‑safety data systems, information systems or transport analytics.
• Proven experience on transport or road‑safety projects in developing countries, preferably in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
• Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
• Minimum 7 years of experience specifically in crash‑data systems or road‑safety information systems.
