Senior Exploration Geologist – Africa & Middle East

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist / District Geologist to lead discovery‑driven exploration in the Kibali District of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you will design and execute exploration programmes that target world‑class gold deposits.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and carry out field activities such as drilling, trenching, geological mapping, geophysics and geochemistry.
• Compile, clean and analyse geological data to generate and rank exploration targets.
• Develop regional, camp and target‑scale geological models, integrating lithology, stratigraphy, structure, alteration and mineralisation.
• Lead technical discussions and ensure best‑practice geological standards across the team.
• Support Barrick’s growth strategy through competitor project due‑diligence reviews, including technical, financial and legislative assessments.
• Promote and adhere to Barrick’s safety culture and zero‑harm principles.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in gold (and/or copper) exploration, preferably in African or Middle‑East districts.
• Strong field orientation with a track record of delivering discovery‑focused programmes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑disciplinary teams and communicate findings effectively.
