Senior Planning Engineer - Airport Infrastructure

About the role

The consultant provides strategic leadership and oversight of the planning and scheduling function for the Infrarose Airport Project. The role covers the development, maintenance and control of the integrated master programme across all workstreams, ensuring on-time delivery while meeting contractual, client and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the contractual baseline programme in Primavera P6 covering design, procurement, construction and commissioning, and secure formal stakeholder approval.
• Integrate schedules across airside, landside, terminal, MEP and systems packages, linking logic rigorously.
• Chair weekly and monthly schedule review, progress and alignment meetings with the client, contractors and stakeholders.
• Direct advanced critical path analysis and proactively plan schedule mitigation and acceleration.
• Coordinate quantitative schedule risk analysis (QSRA) and scenario-planning models to identify and bypass bottlenecks.
• Support the evaluation and preparation of Extension of Time (EoT) claims through forensic schedule and delay analysis.
• Mentor and oversee the multi-national project controls team so it follows global project controls standards.
• Synchronize schedule outputs with commercial progress and cost data for accurate Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related technical discipline.
• 12 to 15 years of project planning and scheduling experience, including at least 6 years in a leadership or management capacity on mega infrastructure projects (major airport developments strongly preferred).
• Proven track record managing multi-package delivery schedules under FIDIC contracts.
• Leadership, cross-functional coordination and executive-level stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience delivering international infrastructure projects in Africa or similar complex logistics environments is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced mastery of Primavera P6 in enterprise or cloud environments.
• Expert-level schedule risk software such as Acumen Risk or Pertmaster.
