Lead Civil Engineer – Airport Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Civil Engineer to oversee all non‑pavement civil engineering aspects of a major international airport infrastructure project. This includes earthworks, grading, drainage, utility networks, roads (excluding pavement design), retaining structures, and external works. The role requires strong technical leadership, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and hands‑on involvement in design review, construction supervision, and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering scope from concept design through construction, commissioning, and handover, reviewing designs for earthworks, drainage, utilities, road geometry, and retaining structures.
• Supervise on‑site civil works, review shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, and monitor testing of soils and concrete.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, ICT, and pavement teams, and liaise with consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor progress, sequencing, and resource allocation; prepare technical reports and support procurement of civil materials.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities, evaluate alternative materials and construction methods for cost savings and sustainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of experience on large‑scale infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in airport environments.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO, FAA, ASTM, ACI and local standards.
• Proven experience in earthworks, drainage, utility coordination, and external works.
• Proficiency with civil design and modelling tools such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD and InfraWorks.
• Experience in project planning, scheduling and construction supervision.
