Senior Project Manager – Transactional Services

About the role

UNOPS is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of transactional services such as HR, procurement, and grant management for its partners. You will act as the central coordination point with donors, partners and beneficiaries, ensuring projects meet contractual commitments and UNOPS performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute the project implementation plan, establishing milestones and tolerances.
• Embed sustainability, gender, social and environmental considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee production of outputs, manage resources, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure quality of work packages, liaise with external suppliers, and manage acceptance and delivery of deliverables.
• Monitor progress, control variances, manage changes, and report risks and opportunities to senior management and the Project Board.
• Comply with UNOPS policies, local laws and financial regulations, and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Support audit activities, provide handover to closure manager, and ensure ethical standards are upheld.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering transactional services in an international or development context.
• Strong understanding of donor coordination, contractual compliance and UNOPS performance standards.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk and benefits across complex projects.
• Knowledge of sustainability, gender and social inclusion principles.
• Familiarity with local legal and financial regulations.
