Senior Superintendent I, LOM Capex / Opex Planning Engineer

About the role

KAMOA COPPER SA is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead Life‑of‑Mine (LOM) capital and operating expense planning for its flagship copper mine. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing medium‑ and short‑term CAPEX and OPEX models that support strategic extraction objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve LOM, medium‑term and short‑term CAPEX/OPEX requirements.
• Prioritise projects and capital expenditure to align with corporate strategic goals.
• Implement mine‑planning policies, structures and governance frameworks.
• Manage and oversee contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of planning outputs.
• Provide strategic extraction options and financial models to support decision‑making.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering (mandatory).
• Post‑graduate qualification in Mine Planning and Optimisation (advantageous).
• Minimum 8 years experience in long‑term and mid‑term mine planning.
• At least 6 years experience building OPEX/CAPEX models.
• Minimum 8 years underground mining experience.
• Fluent business English; French knowledge highly valued.

Required skills

• Advanced use of mine‑planning software such as Deswik and 5DPlanner.
• OPEX and CAPEX modelling expertise.
• Financial modelling and evaluation.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Understanding of survey, rock engineering, hydrology, ventilation, geology and sampling concepts.
