Senior Travel Coordinator

About the role

The Senior Travel Coordinator ensures that church employees, missionaries, and other representatives travel safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively worldwide. This role supports the mission of the Church by making travel arrangements simple and affordable.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and book travel itineraries using the most cost‑efficient options, including air, rail, rental cars, and hotels.
• Prepare detailed itineraries and ensure all required visas and documentation are accurate.
• Follow accounting guidelines for invoicing, payments, and billing; prepare check requisitions.
• Maintain vendor relationships and correspond with consulates as needed.
• Coordinate special events such as mission president seminars and area council meetings.
• Assist and train junior travel coordinators and take on special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of travel‑industry experience (church travel experience preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent customer service.
• Ability to handle complex travel issues, work efficiently under a large workload, and lead process‑improvement initiatives.
• Willingness to support after‑hours calls and act as a role model for professional behavior.
• Travel University specialist certification is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
