Superintendent I, Oxygen Production

About the role

The Superintendent I will lead the execution of production and maintenance activities within the Oxygen Plant at Kamoa Copper Mine. This role ensures reliable oxygen output to support smelting operations and drives continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on the construction and trial‑operation plan for the Oxygen Plant.
• Implement and monitor the plant’s maintenance operating plan.
• Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as the subject‑matter expert for Oxygen Plant maintenance.
• Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
• Monitor costs and expenses to achieve efficiencies and reduce waste.
• Support the transformation agenda and integrate HSEQ into all work processes.
• Maintain accurate reporting for the area of responsibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in electrical, mechanical, cryogenic, thermal or power engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an Oxygen Plant, preferably within a smelter operation.
• Proficiency in business English; knowledge of French and Swahili is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of DRC legislation.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, leadership and risk‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, flexibility, resilience and team‑building skills.
