Technical Director – Farm Workshop Operations

About the role

The Technical Director will lead all farm workshop activities, ensuring that equipment, mechanics, and spare‑parts operations run smoothly across multiple sites. This senior position focuses on maximizing machine availability, enforcing rigorous standards, and driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced agricultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and enforce SOPs for maintenance, repair, diagnostics and spare‑parts management.
• Oversee workshops across farms, managing mechanics, spare‑parts inventories and equipment such as tractors, harvesters, irrigation systems and trucks.
• Ensure high machine uptime through preventive maintenance programmes and rapid corrective actions.
• Standardise spare‑parts lists, set minimum stock levels and monitor stock rotation.
• Conduct regular workshop audits, identify gaps and apply corrective measures.
• Optimise machine utilisation and overall operational efficiency.
• Develop machine replacement strategies based on cost‑benefit analysis and performance data.
• Train operators and technicians to minimise misuse and equipment breakdowns.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing heavy equipment or multi‑site workshops.
• Strong leadership abilities and a disciplined operational mindset.
