Temple Security Supervisor

About the role

The Temple Security Supervisor ensures the safety and sanctity of temple facilities, providing a secure environment for patrons and staff while upholding the standards set by church leadership. This role combines operational oversight, emergency response, and collaboration with local law‑enforcement to protect both sacred and temporal assets.

Key responsibilities

• Orient, train, and supervise all security personnel, creating schedules that guarantee continuous coverage.
• Recommend and implement procedures to reduce theft, vandalism, intrusion, and liability risks.
• Install, calibrate, maintain, and monitor electronic alarm systems and surveillance equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds for safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain incident logs, prepare reports, and communicate security matters to the Temple Facilities Manager.
• Perform performance evaluations and advise on personnel actions.
• Establish liaison with local law‑enforcement and fire‑prevention officials, defining clear emergency communication protocols.
• Undertake special investigations and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years of law‑enforcement experience (or five years combined with related experience).
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
• First‑aid and CPR certification.
• Demonstrated leadership, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse range of patrons.
