Accounting Assistant

About the role

VillageReach is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support its financial operations. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will help ensure timely processing of staff advances, mobile‑money transactions, vendor payments, and audit documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up weekly on outstanding staff advances to ensure accountability.
• Perform daily reconciliation of mobile‑money transactions and assist with month‑end balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare payment plans to facilitate smooth cash flow.
• File and maintain financial documents, receipts, invoices, and vouchers for easy retrieval and compliance.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding supplier, vendor, and partner payments.
• Assist the Senior Accountant in audit preparation by organizing records and compiling required documentation.
• Support vendor account reconciliation and other ad‑hoc finance or administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance functions such as cash management, reconciliations, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Ability to supervise up to one employee.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
