Space Market, Innovation & Investment Expert

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Non‑Key Expert to support activities related to space and geospatial market development, innovation, entrepreneurship, commercialisation, investment readiness and access to finance within African and European space ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and develop space and geospatial markets in Africa and the EU, including market sizing and trend identification.
• Design and implement innovation and entrepreneurship programmes, such as incubation and acceleration initiatives for space startups.
• Support commercialisation of space technologies and services by linking developers with potential customers and partners.
• Prepare entities for investment readiness and facilitate access to finance through business plan development and investor matchmaking.
• Provide policy and market advice to strengthen the Africa‑EU space partnership, contributing to strategic documents and stakeholder workshops.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in economics, business administration, engineering, innovation management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in market analysis, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development or investment advisory within technology sectors.
• At least 4 years of experience specifically on space or geospatial markets, covering market studies, innovation instruments, incubation, acceleration, commercialisation or finance access.
• Excellent command of English; working knowledge of French or Portuguese is considered an asset.
• Demonstrated knowledge of African space markets and investment ecosystems is advantageous.
