Finance Director / CFO for DR Congo Mining Operations

About the role

Our client, an established mining and resources group, is seeking a Finance Director to lead the finance function of its DR Congo operations. The role is based on site in DR Congo and is open to candidates currently residing in Dubai who are ready to relocate.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full finance function for the DR Congo entity, overseeing accounting, treasury, tax, and reporting teams.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS and deliver them to group finance on schedule.
• Build and manage the annual budget, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans for mining operations.
• Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and funding requirements for the site.
• Ensure compliance with DRC tax, mining royalty, customs, and statutory requirements, and manage relationships with local authorities and auditors.
• Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and audit readiness.
• Advise the leadership team on costs, margins, and investment decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, plus a professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
• Minimum 12 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven experience in the mining industry, essential.
• Strong experience working in the Africa region or in DR Congo.
• Willingness to relocate to DR Congo and be based on site or in country.
• Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
